Red Sky at Night is a beautiful childrens book about a Welsh Red Dragon.
 
Welsh Artist Jantien Powell did the illustrations for this book and Kelvin Vater wrote the poetic verses.
 
Heart warming and hilarious it really is a delightful book for children.
Jantien has also produced  a lovely series of paintings to completement the book, all available at the gallery.
 
Kelvin Vater was born in the village of Llanddewi Rhydderch in South Wales and has lived there all his life.
 
Jantien Powell is a farmer's daughter, orignally from Mamhilad near Pontypool, she has lived and worked in Abergavenny for nearly 40 years.  Jantien paints what she loves, - the Welsh mountains, the coast, the hill farms and their inhabitants. 
 
This book is her first foray into the world of illustration.
