Myles Mansfield - Welsh Paintings and Sculpture

Myles is a South Wales Artist currently studying for his PhD in fine art kinetic sculpture at York St John University. He started painting at the age of 39 while a plumber and central heating engineer and gained his master's degree in fine art painting at Swansea College of art 12 years later. He paints in watercolour, acrylic and oils. His Acrylic landscape paintings explore how a large part of our knowledge of the places we love is formed from memory and feeling.

Myles examines these feelings with paint, abstracting the landscape and moving the paint from the sky into the land and back again. This challenging process is about what feels right and is an exploration into the unknown each time.
